A Loan to the Lord

I’m reading through Matt Perman’s excellent What’s Best Next, and am encountering little gems on every page.  His comment on Proverbs 19:17 struck me as particularly beautiful this afternoon.

What we give (especially to the poor) is loaned to the Lord (Prov. 19:17), and the Lord does not default on his “loans.”  The Lord pays back everything that is “loaned” to him with great increase and even more abundance (Luke 6:38).

Though I’m only about a third of the way through the book, I can already confidently recommend the book.  I should finish it this week, and plan to write up a review shortly thereafter.  In the meantime, you can also check out his blog.

Sounds like a good book – looking forward to your complete review :)

LOVE the new blog layout. I’m probably behind the times here, but this is the first time I’ve seen it. Super snazzy. Not snazzy as in too much bling, but really comfortable to look at and easy to navigate. I like it. Good work.

Jessica–That’s awesome to hear. We just updated the look this last week, so you are not behind the times. :)

And the book is great. I’m about halfway through it, so hopefully in about two weeks, I’ll be able to put up a useful review.
